There are three types of car insurance and these are the three classes. The
types of car insurance are what a car insurance provider will base on the model
and make of the car you are insuring.
Let's take a look at what each of the three classes means. The most basic
coverage is the Basic Liability policy which covers for accidents, but is
limited in the kind of injury it covers.
There is also the Class B policy which covers for cars with damages that
are worth more than the vehicle itself. It is not always covered by the basic
policy and can only be purchased from your local insurer. If you choose to
purchase a higher level of insurance with this you will have to pay out more to
cover the damage.
Class C covers for claims that are eligible for up to a hundred thousand
pounds in compensation. The insurer will pay you if you're the driver of the
vehicle and not at fault. If you were at fault they would offer you
compensation up to the amount of their losses.
Premiums are calculated based on the risk factor of the drivers. For
example, if you have been at fault in four or five road accidents in the last
five years they might want to offer you a cheaper premium.
Class D is for cars that you cannot drive. You have been pulled over for
speeding, you have had three or more traffic violations, or you have filed a
complaint against the insurer in the past and they have taken action against
you.
Class E car insurance will cover injuries that occur in collisions with an
uninsured driver. This is the most expensive policy and if you are caught
driving an uninsured vehicle, you will lose your car insurance altogether.
Class F car insurance covers for situations where the driver is injured by
someone who is insured. Most of the time this involves when the insured person
drives recklessly and hits another vehicle. There will be increased premiums
for this type of auto insurance.
Class G car insurance covers for damages done by a tow truck or other
motorized vehicle. There are limitations on how much it will pay for your car,
so you'll need to check with your insurance company.
Class H is a special type of policy that is available for high risk drivers
and is commonly called combined car insurance. It covers both, damages and
injuries.
Also called an add-on policy, this type of policy will provide coverage for
two policies. You must not drive a car with the first policy to use the second
policy.
Be sure to check with your local insurance agent to find out what types of
car insurance are available to you. Many people are unaware of the different
types of insurance and so get caught unaware of the limits on their insurance.
